At the bakery where I work our recipes are well guarded. When the owner allowed this most delicious cookie recipe to be printed in the newspaper I jumped at the chance to share it with all of you.. (Thanks Alan!) Try this recipe and you will see why this is one of our top selling cookies.

You don't know me but I follow your blog. Snickerdoodles and Gingerbread cookies are my FAVORITE. I've never had the guts to bake EITHER but this recipe looks so simple and wonderful!

I can't WAIT to try it!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Thanks for sharing that recipe. It's not often a bakery shares it's secrets.

I'm not familiar with snickerdoodles. Is it basically a sugar cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar?

You're right on M. Snicker doodles are basically a drop sugar cookie rolled in cinnamon/sugar and baked. They are generally soft and slightly chewy and are best if not over baked. Its distinct flavor comes from the cream of tartar. If you have never had them then this is a great recipe to try them out on. It is so simple and very tasty!
